Welcome to SouthPoint Church

We're glad you're here.! SouthPoint Church exists to reach those disconnected from God and help connect them in a meaningful relationship with God and others, and to connect them to the ministry and mission of Jesus Christ. You can join us on Sunday mornings at 10:45am for our main worship experience, and connect at various times throughout the week in our other ministry environments like journey groups. No matter who you are or where you've been, there is a place for you to connect at SouthPoint.

About Us

SouthPoint is a place where you can find answers to the questions and situations of everyday life. SPC also serves as a reference point for those who have simply lost their bearings in our fast paced society. It's also a place to connect with other people in genuine relationships. We're a great place to find a friend to walk with, talk with, share doubts and fears with, to love, to celebrate, to mourn - in short, to experience the meaning of life together.

Our Mission

Connecting People in Meaningful Relationships to God and to Each Other.

Our Vision

To be a Biblically functioning community of Christ-Followers so that Christ’s purposes can be accomplished in the world.

What’s the Point?

SouthPoint is truly a place of new beginnings. SouthPoint serves as a connecting point for those investigating the Christian faith. It’s a place where, regardless of where you are on your spiritual journey, you are free to pursue God in a loving, caring, and casual environment.

Connecting people to God and each other

SouthPoint Church

Our Story

Chris Toole was a minister's kid and became a minister himself. But after 22 years in the ministry he was still not fully satisfied with the local church's ability to attract truly unchurched people. Finally in August 2004, inspired by the effective ministries of Willow Creek in Chicago, Saddleback in California, Northpoint in Atlanta, and Cascade Hills in Columbus, Chris and his wife Marie, committed themselves to begining a brand new church designed from the outset to target the unchurched.

In August 2004, after much prayer and discussion, he left the church where he was currently serving. By late August, a core group of 18 people had been established. On September 12, 2004, SouthPoint launched it's first service in the Chamber of Commerce building.

For the next year and a half, SPC held services at the City Auditorium. Then, in December 2005, SPC held its first service in a newly constructed facility located on a 21-acre campus. In just a short period of time, God had provided everything the church needed. God has continued to provide for SPC every step of the way. While we are incredibly thankful about what God has done us already, the most amazing part is that we know greater things are yet to come as we seek God's face and He uses SouthPoint to continue to reach unchurched people in our community.

At SouthPoint Church, we strive to create and cultivate environments where people are connected in meaningful relationships with each other, and grow together in their walk with Christ. From newborns to adults, specific environments have been designed to help you grow as a Christ follower. In each of these environments, Christ-followers can discover their strengths and talents and find their place of service within the community of believers.Christ-followers are equipped and sent out into the work place, schools, and homes, as missionaires for Christ.SouthPoint is not a place to attend, but is a Place to Belong!

Great Ways to Connect:

Our weekly worship gathering is on Sunday mornings beginning at 10:45am and lasts for between an hour and an hour and fifteen minutes. Hot coffee and bottled water will be ready and waiting for you when you walk in the door. The service is casual and comfortable, so come dressed in whatever makes you comfortable. Each week will have great music and a practical message to help you connect in a relationship with Christ and to navigate life as a Christ follower. Regardless of what life looks like for you, this is an open environment where you can feel free to explore the truth of who God is at your own pace and with whatever questions you may have. Best of all, we get to worship together and be reminded that we are not alone and don’t have to do life on our own.

We hope you will join us for a worship gathering on a Sunday soon, and we can’t wait to meet you!

Our preschool ministry at SouthPoint Church, Creation Station, is designed for children ages birth – pre-K. The Creation Station environment is located in the North end of the SPC facility, and is completely secure & designed with parents and young children in mind. Upon dropping your child off at the check in counter each morning, both you and your child will receive matching armbands. After giving you these armbands, our  workers will take down all specific information needed for your child and then take them into the Creation Station area and to their age specific classroom. If you are needed by your child for any reason during the service, a trained nursery staff member will alert you. Classrooms in creation station are broken up into three separate categories: birth -walking; 2-3; & 4 and over. During Creation Station, your child will play and perform activities with other children, be taught an age specific Bible lesson, sing, eat a snack, and more! The workers in Creation Station are passionate about children and teaching them about God at an early age. A child is never too young to begin to hear the good news of Jesus, and in Creation Station your child will do just that while having tons of fun.

When coming to SouthPoint’s Creation Station remember one thing: look for the Ark and the Animals, and then you’ll know you’ve arrived at the station!

Welcome to SouthPoint Church’s Children’s Ministry page! The Children’s Ministry at SPC is designed for students Kindergarten through 5th grade. The Children’s Ministry area is located in the South end of our facility, and includes a registration desk to the right of the main lobby where you can drop off your child for the morning.  Sunday mornings at the SPC Children’s Ministry are exciting times, as you can usually tell by the yelling and singing that can be heard from the halls on any given Sunday morning. The children begin Sunday morning with a time of games, crafts, etc to help reinforce the lesson of the morning. For this part of the morning, children are split up into different classrooms by age and gender. After this, all of the Children meet for Children’s Church and worship where they sing, see puppets, do large group activities, etc. Sunday morning serves as the primary environment for our children where they not only will hear the truth of Jesus, but just as importantly, they will remember it because of the fun they had!

On Wednesday evenings at 6pm, children have their own group called “Son Seekers.” In this group, kids participate in fun games and activities for the first half of the group, and they finish each week learning one Big Idea about God. The goal is that they will leave knowing that One Big Idea well, and that they will leave having had a great time. When the children have a lot of fun they are more apt to learn the spiritual lesson well.

SouthPoint is a great place for children, and a place that they will love to be involved!

Journey Groups

Journey Groups at SouthPoint are small groups of around 7-15 people that meet on different nights throughout the week. These groups last  for a semester at a time before new groups are formed, and are available in both single gender and mixed gender formats. In Journey Groups, each group commits to a different study based on interests, prays together, and journeys through life together. Journey groups are a great place to develop new relationships with others at SPC, and they are a great environment for spiritual growth. For us, Journey Groups are a logical next step to attending our Sunday morning worship gathering.

No matter your age, gender, or stage of life, there is a great Journey Group available for you to plug into at SouthPoint Church! Nursery care and a children’s group are available as well, so go ahead, and get plugged in to a Journey Group today.
